YOGA: What does 'Namaste' mean?

Often we end our group practice with the word: Namaste. People frequently wonder about the meaning of this word. It comes from the Sanskrit language and is literally translated as, "Salutations to You." However, when seasoned with the loving energy of the ancient Yogic traditions, some very beautiful translations of this word also convey the strentgh of our connection to one another. Here is my current favorite:

NAMASTE:
I honor the place in you
where Spirit lives
I honor the place in you
which is of Love, of Truth,
of Light, of Peace,
when you are in that place in you,
and I am in that place in me,
then we are One.
Feel free to print this out and carry it, share it or post it where it's positive energy can increase.
